Dr Graham Lumley – Managing Director
A qualified mining engineer and MBA graduate, Graham has been involved with the mining industry for 22 years. When he established GBI in 1998, he initiated the largest collection of mining performance data in the world. He later pioneered the use of physical modelling to make commercial decisions. Graham holds two patents on dragline bucket design. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland, a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, a member of the Mineral Industry Consultants Association and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Based in GBI's Brisbane office, Graham supervises company operations and plans strategic development.

Nick Griffith – Business Development Manager
Nick has been with GBI since 2002, initially developing the reporting and database structure. His unique experience played a key role in the company's worldwide development. He has accumulated extensive knowledge having worked on dozens of mining operations across Australia, South Africa, North and South America. Nick oversees GBI's business development and marketing maintaining a strong relationship between all our clients. Nick has developed training strategies for major mining companies and has facilitated many courses, inter-company and country mine trips over the years.

Lea Andlovec – Business Coordinator
Lea joined the GBI team in 2005 with over 15 years experience in sales, marketing, business and office management. Lea holds a Diploma in Business Development and in 2007 her role expanded to include business improvement support and now regularly visits mines in support of new and existing clients.

Rebecca Ten – Business and Finance Coordinator
Rebecca graduated from Griffith University with a Double Degree in International Business and Commerce majoring in Human Resource Management and Accounting. She is responsible for day to day financial control at GBI and liaises with GBI’s accountants to ensure financial control is maintained. Rebecca plans to undertake further study to become a certified Chartered Practicing Accountant.

Karen Trott – Business Administrator (South Africa)
Karen brought her experience in business and office management to GBI in 2006. She was instrumental in setting up GBI’s first international office in Witbank, South Africa and facilitates operational support to GBI’s growing South African team.

Jan Sapper - Development Engineer
Since joining GBI in 2007 on an international engineering internship from Germany, Jan has been helping to develop the Vienna Test System (VTS) operator testing program. He is also supporting GBI engineers with bucket modelling, 3D-dig mine planning and general engineering projects.

Trevor Trott – Operations Manager (Africa & South America)
Prior to joining GBI in 2005, Trevor had 18 years experience on coal mines in South Africa including 3 yrs as Dragline operator, and over 10yrs in Dragline, Truck & Shovel and Drill & Blast management including Foreman, Superintendent and Production Manager.
As GBI’s Operations Manager in charge of the African and South American GBI Operation, Trevor has worked with all types of open cast coal operations, on mines in South Africa and Australia. Trevor has facilitated numerous courses, has assisted a number of mine sites with observations, audits, analysis, and assistance in sequencing and operational problems throughout many of the major Mining Companies.

Bevin Horton - Productivity Superintendent
For 25 of the past 48 years working in the earthmoving industry, Bevin worked with large stripping draglines and associated equipment in Australia’s Bowen Basin. For the last 15 of those 25 years, Bevin was the Dragline Supervisor and then Superintendent at German Creek Mine. Since joining GBI in 2006, Bevin has worked as consultant and trainer on sites in the Hunter Valley, South Africa and Queensland.

Kerry Sullivan – Productivity Superintendent
Kerry has 20 years dragline and dozer operating experience, 10 years dragline supervisory experience and six years experience in training operators. Since joining GBI in 2005 Kerry has worked as a consultant and trainer in the Bowen Basin, Hunter Valley and South Africa.

Jim Patzwald – Productivity Superintendent
Jim has over 25 years experience in Dragline operations and is well respected at mines throughout the Bowen Basin including Goonyella and Saraji Mines. The last 16 years of Jim's mine experience were spent at Tarong Mine as Production Supervisor of Dragline Operations, along with reclamation and Drill & Blast. Now as a member of the GBI Team, Jim is involved in several Training and Mentoring roles at mines throughout the Bowen Basin and Hunter Valley.

Malcolm Green - Productivity Superintendent (South Africa)
Prior to joining GBI in February 2006, Malcolm worked on BECSA’s Optimum Colliery for the past 32 years, where he was a dragline operator for about 20 years, dragline foreman for eight years and for the last four years, was in charge of all training related to the dragline operators and crews, including novices. At GBI, Malcolm assists with facilitating courses, performs observations at mine sites and of operators, and conducts training in the field, on machine and on simulators.

Jason Smith - Productivity Superintendent (South Africa)
Prior to joining GBI in 2007, Jason had 18 years experience on coal mines in South Africa. This includes 4 years as an operator of earth moving equipment; he has also spent time at a South African Mining College as a lecturer and training facilitator, his experience and knowledge includes open cut and underground mining operations.
He has over the years, gained vast experience in Draglines, Drill & Blast, Truck & Shovel and Mine planning as a Foreman, Superintendent and Acting Production Manager. As GBI‘s Productivity Superintendent in South Africa, Jason has worked with many open cut coal operations in South Africa and Australia, facilitated courses, partaken in audits and analysis of the different mining operations.

Yolandi Rossouw - Productivity Co-ordinatior/Trainer (South Africa)
Yolandi joined the GBI team in June 2008. Prior to joining GBI, Yolandi worked in various facets of opencast mining. Her primary role was in Dragline operations. She has worked in the mining sector as a Dragline operator, Supervisor and Dragline Training officer. Yolandi has been involved in individual and group training sessions from novice operators to experienced operators, operator assessments, simulator training, operator mentorship and various consulting roles. She is also involved in the distribution of the GBI Reporting to the individual mines.

Melissa James – IT Manager
Melissa joined GBI in 2005 as an honours graduate with a Bachelor of Information Technology. In her role as IT Manager, Melissa supervises the benchmarking and productivity reporting processes. While based in head office she regularly travels to mines to support key clients.

Agnes Yue Fan – Data Analyst
Agnes joined GBI as an IT graduate in 2008 with a Bachelor of Information Technology with Distinction(Information Systems). In her role as a Data Analyst Agnes is involved with compiling reports and assisting with the management of GBI's dragline and truck and loader databases.

Yan Fen Li – Data Analyst
Yan Fen joined GBI as an IT graduate in 2007 with a Master of Information Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering (Information and Communication Systems). In her role as a Data Analyst Yan Fen generates and develops GBI's productivity reports. She is also involved in the management of GBI's dragline and truck and loader databases.
